A Mind Prone to Evil
"Weaving back and forth through time and place, Lynch’s refined and elegant prose seamlessly melds meticulous research with vivid imagination to dissect one of history’s darkest minds. Given the turbulence of our present day, this novel holds not only historical curiosity, but also a stark reminder of what can occur when power and inhumanity go unchecked; I felt chills as I read."
Clare Wigfall, author of The Loudest Sound and Nothing,
winner of the BBC National Short Story Award.
"Extraordinary. A tour de force. Beautifully written and
an exceptionally well-researched work of fiction.”
Susan Ronald, author of Hitler’s Art Thief
"Lynch leads us through a gallery of stolen brilliance, every frame offering
a chilling glimpse of vanity, avarice, and the fragile veneer of power."

“All things can corrupt when a mind is prone to evil.”
It is 1945.
One of history's cruellest figures: Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring.
Hitler’s brilliant, brutal Second in Command, a man the Fuhrer himself calls ‘as cold as ice’.
Göring’s decadent world is about to collapse. As the allied forces close in, the action sweeps from his sumptuous forest hideaway at Carinhall to Courtroom 600 at Nuremberg’s Palace of Justice, where this charismatic and calculating master manipulator will engage in a battle of wits with psychologists and prosecutors.
As the evidence mounts against him, friends and adversaries are drawn into the final maelstrom.
Some of them will learn too late that though power is intoxicating,
it is the most dangerous drug of all.
